Web Copy ~ Copywriting Samples
Interactivity adds a new dimension to copywriting. Since the visitor is always
just a click away from leaving, it's vital to provide information economically,
yet in keeping with the brand voice. At the same time, you have to think about
what else people may want to know, and plan how to steer them to it while staying
in control of the experience.
Here are samples of three different types of web copy.

Multi-Page Consumer Information
Bank of America (2005)
A new job? Starting a small business? Moving? People often don't realize that
events like these can affect their financial needs. In a multi-part section of
the bankofamerica.com website, I summarized how their need for insurance might
change in certain situations. Sample contains three of these articles. |

Intranet Sales Support
JP Morgan Chase/Bank One (2003-2005)
To make it easier for salespeople to put together proposals and maintain contact
with prospects and customers, I worked with my Chase Small Business Banking client
to create an online proposal builder system, including capabilities and product
information as well as a letter library. This sample marketing sheet is one of
more than a hundred pages I wrote for Proposal Wizard, which is accessible only
through the bank's intranet. |

Targeted Use Website
SunTrust Mortgage (2002)
This site (suntrustmortgagecareers.com) explains the goals, services, and
strengths of a major mortgage company that serves nearly every state in the U.S.
While parts of it have been updated since its development, my original copy still
soldiers on in pages like those in this sample, which introduce the wholesale and correspondent divisions. |
